DJ Serf, Brandon Serfass, has been participating in DC/Baltimore’s DJ Scene since 2007. However, it all started when he was growing up in the 90′s when his older sisters would influence him with all the latest 90′s dance tracks. At the time, his father’s love for music totally brushed off on DJ Serf. His father’s rock band that grew big in the DC/MD area throughout the late 70′s and 80′s, who also debuted on local radio stations greatly inspired Dj Serf as well.
He took after his parent’s musical talents an built off them. He borrowed attributes from his father’s guitar playing and his mother’s piano skills with a little bit of Sax playing to engage in his hobby of playing music. Soon, the hobby grew into something more.

It was not until Brandon was in his teenage years where he would venture out in the streets of Washington, DC attending nightclubs, to only hear some of the biggest names in electronica DJing, Benny Benassi, Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, Robbie Rivera, Kaskade, Afrojack, Bart Bmore, Bingo Players to name a few. Standing there on the Dance floor looking up only to dream of being in the place behind the decks.
His good friends and DJs, who he works closely with, Saucy (Sam Nassar) and Saint P (Greg St. Pierre) not only influenced him but convinced him that it could be possible. So as DJ Serf traveled DC and Baltimore he soon met many local DJ’s where he could share ideas and ask for advice on where to begin.
At that point he was confident and decided to spare a little cash on his first mixer and set of decks where he could finally make this dream happen. He started constantly tuning in to DJ sets on electronic music radio stations to the ideas rolling. Serf then met a online based community for sharing different genres of music where he could build his library. At that point Dj Serf started out mixing on some computer software programs where he felt limited and bridged his skills to CDJ’s and his love for vinyl. Now a days, Serf uses both digital software and CD decks to compose his mixes. Dj Serf has a very unique styling of DJing, using a combination of samples, tight transitions and versatile mixing skills.
Dj Serf started out DJing many house parties then moving on to local residencies at local venues in the DC and Maryland area. Ouzo’s was his first main gig where he got a very small taste of fame. He also Djed at Ultrabar, Muse Nightclub and Ibiza in DC right along some of the biggest named DJs. Dj Serf also has Djed many weddings and professional events. Serf currently is affiliated with One World Muzik and has the pleasure of working with some amazing artists Latigid and Chris Rockbourne.
Always keep a look out for new things to come from DJ SERF. One World Muzik is excited to add DJ Serf to our roster!
